Safer Shopping after lockdown
After two months of lockdown, Ambience are open for business once again, but will it be business as usual?
Many customers are still likely to be cautious of entering our shop even after some easing of lockdown restrictions, and rightly so. Experts warn lower infection rates combined with higher temperatures could lead to complacency among people to respect social distancing and hygiene rules, leading to a new wave of infections.
Safer shopping
Retailers need to make shopping safe for both their customers and staff.
Some things just cannot be done online. Things like a practical one-to-one demonstration of a pellet stove, where you can ask questions relevant to you. Our showroom was deliberately designed to encourage customers to spend time browsing, get a hands-on feel for the products and discuss their individual requirements with staff members.
All of this completely contradicts the requirements of social distancing and makes it difficult for us to operate without first making some significant changes.
Social distancing
Social distancing is key to minimising the person to person risk from COVID-19. In practice this is quite difficult in a small showroom, subsequently, it is necessary for us to limit the number of people in the shop at any one time.
We have reduced the possibility of contact with other customers by introducing an appointment system. You are most welcome to visit, but please contact us by phone, facebook or email to make an appointment.
We will only allow one customer (couple) in the shop at one time, so please wait at the door until you are approached by a member of staff.
No touch policy
The virus can be spread by touching a contaminated object or surface, and then touching the mouth, nose or eyes.
To minimise this risk, we have introduced our No Touch Policy.
In practice this means no personal contact with staff or other customers, and not touching the products on display.
To support this, it is imperative that all customers respect the safety lines marked on the floor.
